Can’t you just hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore… and the sand exhaling as the sea slips back into its vastness. Ahh the sounds of summer at the beach.
I’m declaring this as my official summer of 2014 cocktail. It’s that good! I’m not sure I can get enough. It’s fresh, it’s fruity, it’s bubbly and just a tad sweet.
This cocktail was inspired by the drink I had on Easter Sunday. While sipping this cocktail I peered out through the palm trees lining the shore and watched as the waves crash on the beach, all from the comfortable water view seats at a posh Miami restaurant. It was a moment of peace and deliciousness I knew I had to recreate.
I should also tell you that this drink is super easy to make, while also remaining pure and natural. Disclaimer: I declare this was easy because I had a friend squeezing the 6 grapefruits I used to make the ex-large pitcher needed to quench my family’s thirst. Though her biceps were huge after all that juicing!
As with any cocktail, the measurements are not exact, put as much or as little of those ingredients you love to make it as you like. It’s also super easy to mix up a large batch for a party, just save out the prosecco and top each glass as you fill them. Cheers to summer!
